KORN Drummer Loves 'The Nothing' Album So Much, He Had To Stop Listening To It

KORN drummer Ray Luzier has told the 105.7 The Point radio station that he is proud of the band's new album, "The Nothing". Released on September 13 via Roadrunner/Elektra, the follow-up to 2016's "The Serenity Of Suffering" was once again produced by Nick Raskulinecz and includes the single "You'll Never Find Me", which was made available in June.

"Everyone always goes, 'This is the best record [we have ever made].' I can honestly say I had to stop listening to it," Ray said (see video below). "When I put this record in, I go from the top to the bottom. I've never done that with any other record — ever. And I'm my worst critic. Most of the record, [I think] 'I could have did [sic] that better.' Nick made sure there was no fillers on this record. He's, like, 'There won't be one hacking song.' There's not gonna be 8 or 9s, and they're all gonna be 10s or they don't end up on the record.' And I'm, like, 'That's a really wacky way of looking at it.' But he succeeded. I mean, we had probably 25, 26 songs, and we [had to cut it down to 13]… They're your babies — you get attached to 'em. You're, like, 'How can this riff not make the record?'"

In addition to "You'll Never Find Me", KORN released the "Cold" and "Can You Hear Me" singles prior to "The Nothing"'s arrival.

KORN recently wrapped a cross-country North American headlining tour and is slated to take the stage at Sacramento's Aftershock festival on October 13. The band's 2020 touring plans have not yet been announced.

"The Serenity Of Suffering" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and received a Grammy Award nomination for best metal performance for lead single "Rotting In Vain".
